Each city or town should try to enhance the attraction of its centre to inhabitants, traders, companies and visitors. Various challenges are to be dealt with:
- prevent or combat lack of occupancy
- aim at an equally developed retail system
- create an attractive public domain
- improve traffic safety, accessibility and parking possibilities
- provide pleasant living and working conditions and a pleasant social climate
- benefit from tourist-recreational assets
WES assists local governments in all phases of the policy cycle with respect to city centre management, through research and consultancy in the field of:
- visionformulation and policy planning
- city centre management evaluation and benchmarking with similar centres
